* Play Information *
Single Player : Yes
Cooperative : No
Deathmatch : sgcq2dm1 is a specific Deathmatch included in zip.
Difficulty Settings : Yes
New Sounds : No
New Graphics : No
New Music : No
Demos Replaced : None
* Construction *
Base : New levels from scratch
Editor(s) used : WorldCraft 1.6
Known Bugs : If you use the Rogue PAK file when playing
you may get an anomoly with the blackhole not
appearing. With Xatrix, it's ok, but it won't
appear with the Rogue pak added. God knows why!
***There's a chance the 3rd map may crash if:
1) you use cheats (especially GIVE ALL).
2) you take a *long* time to complete it.
Because I'm close to the model limit (1029) and
I've got 2 spawners that create soldiers so the
longer you go before turning them off, the more
models it generates and the nearer the limit it
gets and it will in the end generate an overflow
error. Sorry, but if I reduce the model count
any more I reduce the level's look/feel.
Build Time : Since Operation Scorched Earth Part II...
8 months.
Compile machine : Dual PII450 w/ 512MB RAM
Compile time : 6hrs for sgc11-1, the others about 2hrs.
* Other Info *
This set of levels is meant to continue on from Operation Scorched
Earth Parts I & II, my other Quake2 Map Units. In fact if you download OSE
Parts I & II (SGC9 & SGC10) from my website, it should follow through
from sgc9-1 to sgc11-4. So if you've not played any of the Operation
Scorched Earth series you've got 9 consecutive maps to enjoy!
Note, because of the use of the '-' sign in the bsp files, the maps
will not run from a shortcut icon, they must be kicked off from the
console.
I am hoping to continue this series using Half Life where you're back on
earth in London, England.
I strongly recommend you play SGC9 & SGC10 first and read the missions
in them before playing these levels. While they'll be fun on their own I
think they'll be better if you've played Operation Scorched Earth, Parts I & II.
SGC11-1 has some very large architectural areas where r_speeds are approaching
2000. This means it is all but unplayable in software mode and I recommend
you use a decently fast 3D card to play SGC11-1 in particular.
SGC11-4 is the ending map. It doesn't go anywhere, just finishes off the
series with a bit of information, just read the on-screen messages.
Help can be obtained if necessary by emailing me.
